He was trying to get some copper, perhaps to make pennies. For years, he's been stripping buildings in attempts to save as many pennies as he could in order to buy a condo on the Greenpoint waterfront. So one night, while over around the terminals he began to dream of his future home in the sky and got a little carried away with picking out his unit with stripping insulation off of the copper wiring that he found. Not really, but homeless or not, burning down a cluster of buildings the size of a foot ball stadium is a lot of heat for any one man to take...
Curbed had a post on it today [with linkage to my pic, although they had already credited me in an earlier post. justiNYC ain't mad at the Curbed homies.] Could Guttman have the kind of pull that makes a homeless dude just all of a sudden show up arrested two weeks after a fire (and about 15 minutes before condos are starting to get built)? Hmm...maybe.
