Google goes Green with thier new map mashups for environmentally friendly destinations

Good Grief... Google's done Gone and Got Green! Their new map mashup for environmentally friendly destinations in the US.  The mashup supposedly points out happy granola-type destinations and
services in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando or San Francisco.  A suggestion from Google via Lifehacker:

try searching for “environmentally friendly hotels” instead of
just “hotels” when researching trips to any city.

A trip through Long Island City, across the Queensboro Bridge and into Manhattan

Yesterday, I took a car from Greenpoint to 59th and Park in the city.  The trip through LIC was (although not unfamiliar) nice to shoot.  I figured, "Hey, what the hell- I'll blog it!"  You know, cuz thats what I do.

A walk From Brooklyn to Queens

Yesterday, The fotoUR needed to walk a friend to the (7) train in Long Island City, across the Pulaski Bridge, from Greenpoint Brooklyn because the damned (L) train was shut down- again.  That damned (L) should have its own friggin blog!  With all of the disruptions and service breaks that (L) train riders are forced to adjust to, its a wonder any damned body wants to move to North Brooklyn. Nevertheless, The fotoUR isn't one to let a little thing like walking get him down- in fact, he prefers it (as you know).  Just knowing how terrific the flicks will be afterwards is enough to get the feet moving.  So here you have it- a few of the sights you would see if you had to walk from Brooklyn to Queens for some reason.  The (7) train at the foot of the Pulaski will take you right into Grand Central Terminal, in City Mountain.  Check the flickr photostream for the gaps.  Enjoy!
